June is here! The days are getting longer as we approach the summer solstice. In the Bay Area and beyond, the thermostat is beginning to rise and if you’ve got kids in the house, you’re also counting down the last days of school…

love summertime! I love the slower pace, the longer light, the outdoor fun and of course spending time with my family. There’s just so much to enjoy! To add to that, the warmth does my Vata side (cold, dry & light) good, though it can aggravate my Pitta side (fire & water).

If you are someone who has a lot of Pitta in your constitution (agitated in warm weather / quick to anger / overheated), then it will do you good to reduce the heat in your life during these warm months. In today’s talk, I offer specific ways to stay cool using diet, exercise & yoga. Incorporate as many of these tips as you like to remain cool as a cucumber all summer long.
