Dear Yogi,

Back in early December I had the luxury of taking a one-day yoga retreat at Solage with my friend and fellow teacher Hillary Skibell. I was on the fence about it only because I had a big to do list, a lot going on with the holidays fast approaching and I was feeling overwhelmed (vata imbalance).

But I knew once I got out of the house, I wouldn’t regret carving out the time to retreat for the day. Boy was that a good decision. It is still hard for me sometimes to drop things and do what I really need for my mind and body. Is it hard for you too?

What is so amazing about participating in a yoga day at Solage in Calistoga, is that even though it’s only one day and you do have to drive to get there, you feel like you have really been away.

The grounds are beautiful and the yoga room is large, comfortable and has a gorgeous view of the garden. Everything you need is right at your fingertips: towels, slippers, fresh water, snacks and three amazing hot pools to soak in. You can sit in the spa lounge on the beautiful white couches and read or rest. You can also sit by the pool and enjoy lunch or book a treatment.

You never have to leave the property and the day is just right: a morning yoga class, time to rest and eat, followed by an afternoon restorative yoga and meditation session. In just one day you feel relaxed, replenished and reconnected with yourself. I am so glad I went and plan to attend some more of these yoga days at Solage.

Join me for two I am leading this spring: Saturday March 28 Details Here and Sunday May 17 Details Here. You won’t regret the self-care!

Love & Yoga,

Nikki
